As announced by Yannis Pappas, Deputy Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy, the payments of the transport equivalent, which will reach 10 million euros, have begun to the beneficiaries from the Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy after the approval of the relevant credits by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance.

In particular, the payments concern 117,924 citizens and 337,161 ferry and plane tickets for 2022 as well as fuel for the first quarter of 2023. With reference to business fuel, the payments concern 2,974 businesses for the first quarter of 2023 on 43 islands.

As part of the completion of the credit payment process, payments will continue in the first half of 2024.

With regard to businesses and requests submitted in relation to 2022, the control by the Intermediary Body of the Operational Program “Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship” (EFEPAE) and the National Network of Technology and Research Infrastructures (EDYTE) of the relevant requests is expanded, as provided by the FSA, and after findings, with the aim of ensuring the fair distribution of available resources and the public interest.
