“Recognition of the efforts of the Greek people, the ongoing reforms and the progress of our country,” wrote the prime minister
Another distinction in the economic sector for Greece, as our country was highlighted “The Economist country of the year”.
“After years of painstaking restructuring, Greece topped the annual ranking of the world’s rich economies in 2023. Its centre-right government was re-elected in June. Its foreign policy is pro-America, pro-EU and wary of Russia. Greece shows that from the brink of collapse it is possible to enact tough, sensible economic reforms, to rebuild the social contract, to display restrained patriotism,” wrote the Economist.
In his comment, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said:
“A few years ago, who would have expected Greece to be named @TheEconomist country of the year? And yet that is exactly what happened. Recognition of the efforts of the Greek people, the ongoing reforms and the progress of our country”.
