The Ministry of Education again rejected this Monday (7th) the authorization request made by Anhanguera to open a course in dentistry.
The baccalaureate would work at Unifian (Centro Universitário Anhanguera), in the municipality of Leme (SP), with 60 annual vacancies.
The request had already been denied in September 2021 by the MEC’s Secretariat for Regulation and Supervision of Higher Education, but Anhanguera appealed.
In the decision at the time, the course obtained sufficient grade for its approval, but received a grade lower than 3, the minimum required, in one of the evaluated criteria, which deals with the faculty and tutorial – which makes the endorsement unfeasible, according to the body.
Sought by the SA Panel, Anhanguera says it will formalize a new authorization request for the dentistry course as soon as there is a new window for the process. “The institution emphasizes that it offers a high level of education and quality physical structure, as can be seen in the other units of the brand that have the dentistry course”, says the institution in a note.
The MEC’s refusal follows another Anhanguera problem with the organ.
Last month, the Higher Education Department initiated an administrative proceeding against Faculdade Anhanguera de Campinas on suspicion of non-compliance with the conditions of Fies (Student Financing Fund).
