One more week of patience, the beneficiaries will have to do Social Household Tariff (CTO C). The relevant platform will be able to accept them applications their from February 1st.

In order to become a beneficiary of the Social Household Invoice, he must post it on the platform certificate of marital status accompanied by certificate of the Supreme Confederation of Multiple Children of Greece.

The Social Household Tariff provides discount of 10 minutes/Kwh on the electricity supply charge price and exclusively concerns energy consumption in the household’s main residence.

Based on the prices announced for January by the providers for the special tariff – to which almost 85% of households switched based on the calculations of the Ministry of Energy – the charge of the cheapest provider would drop from 13.6 cents/Kwh to just 3.6 minutes for the beneficiary of the social tariff.

The income criteria ensure that the vast majority of those with many children will not be left out of the social tariff.

The limit is set at €50,000 for family with 4 dependent children with surcharge €2,500/child after the fourth up to the amount of €70,000 regardless of the number of protected children.

If there is in the family disabled person above 67% then the limit increases by €8,000 and by €15,000 if a family member needs mechanical support using medical devices at home

The discount in the context of the social is applied up to a certain limit of consumption which is set at 2000 Kwh/four months, i.e. 500Kwh/month for the family with 4 dependent children. For each additional child, 200Kwh should be added with a maximum of 4,000Kwh regardless of the number of dependent children.

If for example a family with 4 dependent children consumes 2,500Kwh in the four months, the 10-minute discount will be applied to the charge of the first 2,000Kwh. The remaining 500kwh will be charged at the provider’s normal tariff.

In the case of a member with a disability of more than 67%, 300kWh should be added to the limit and 600kwh if a family member needs mechanical support using medical devices at home

If a household enjoying the social household tariff discount consumes less energy than this set limit, then an additional discount of up to 2 min/Kwh is provided, bringing the total charge reduction to up to 12 min/Kwh.
