Speech by the Minister of National Economy and Finance at an ETAD event
“We are making a new start for the Superfund and its subsidiaries, which we want to be based on rules of efficiency and contribution to the State and society as a whole”, he pointed out the Minister of National Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis speaking today at an ETAD event on the cutting of the New Year’s pie. Present at the event were the general secretary of Public Property Naya Kollia, the managing director of the Superfund Grigoris Dimitriadis, the president of ETAD Grigoris Anastasiadis and the managing director of the company Iro Hadjigeorgiou.
Especially not for her EDTA he noted: “Inaction leads nowhere and if we keep doing the same things we will get the same results,” adding that while significant efforts have been made in the past and more recently to turn around and improve the situation, there is still much that is not going right. wish
Specifying the government initiatives that will proceed immediately, the minister stated the following:
– A new law on the super fund and its subsidiaries will be passed in the first half of the year, with the aim that the subsidiaries will function as “small PPC”.
“We will recommend to the Parliament that the executives of the management team be recruited from the private sector as well, with tender procedures for a specific period of time”, Mr. Hatzidakis emphasized and added: “This means that the way recruitment will be done will change so that there is the involvement of ASEP, but not the long delays that are observed. There will also be changes in the procedures of the daily operation. Everything will proceed transparently but with greater speed.”
– Especially for ETAD, the procedures that have been initiated in order to determine the properties that are offered and are more ripe for exploitation and which will be given priority will proceed faster. Organizational changes will also be made in order to create separate addresses for the large and mature properties and for the individual smaller concessions.
“A new beginning cannot be made without rapid procedures”, concluded Mr. Hatzidakis. “The methods we propose have been successfully applied internationally and in Europe. If the rules are set and implemented correctly, I am sure that the effort will have positive results.”
