It’s about certificate of financial awareness, which will essentially replace the current evidence of tax and insurance awareness.
It will be issued electronics through the special platform of the public administration, at the request of the interested party, and will have all the details of both the tax and insurance information of the applicant.
After submitting the application, an automatic check of the data will follow, and if all the criteria and conditions are met, the new certificate will be issued under the exact same conditions that govern the issuance of the tax and insurance information. It means that will not be granted if the interested party has unregulated or overdue debts either to the tax office or to the insurance funds.
According to the schedule of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) the platform for issuing the financial awareness certificate will be activated on September 2024.
As defined by the decision of the AADE commander Giorgos Pitsilis:
*Any natural or legal person or legal entity may request, through a special platform accessible through the Unified Digital Portal of the Public Administration (gov.gr-EPSP), the issuance of a single certificate of financial awareness. The certificate includes the details of the proof of tax awareness and the proof of insurance awareness and is issued in digital format.
*The certificate of financial awareness is considered valid for any legal use and is compulsorily accepted by all public and private sector bodies, as well as by natural or legal persons or legal entities, courts of all levels and prosecutors’ offices throughout the country when they are by law, the presentation of the above evidence of awareness is mandatory.
*For the issuance of the certificate of financial awareness, the platform draws, through interoperability, the necessary data from the tax register information system of the Independent Public Revenue Authority and the information system of the Electronic National Social Security Agency. The required interoperability is ensured through the Interoperability Center of the General Secretariat of Public Administration Information Systems of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
It is worth noting that today taxpayers, even if they have settled or non-overdue debts, now have the possibility to automatically receive tax information within a few minutes for their transactions such as the transfer of real estate or the collection of money from the government. Very soon, the debt certificate, which concerns taxpayers with overdue – unregulated debts, will also move into the digital age.
