Dice: “Some question Marinakis but the big picture is different”

by

For the second time in a few weeks, the Nottingham Forest wants to make a fresh start, with him Sean Dice to replace him Angelo Postecoglou and make his debut in tomorrow’s match against Porto for the Europa League.

In the usual press conference on the eve of the match, the experienced coach spoke, among other things, about Vangelis Marinakis, what was said between him and those who doubt him.

In detail:

“I spoke with Marinakis and the people he considers important for the club about the possibility of me taking over, when the decision was made with the previous coach. I think he knows the challenge, I don’t think he sees it as easy because of last season.

He is aware of statistics and facts. He knows that at the end of last year there was a demanding finale and he didn’t get the grades he should have. He knows that, and that’s why they’ve tried to strengthen the roster, to keep building and moving forward.

We had a nice dialogue or I wouldn’t be here. If it was a bad dialogue, I definitely wouldn’t be here. But it went well and was a realistic discussion. He wants to stabilize the team, he knows the challenges, it’s been a long time in football, with Olympiakos and then here.

There have been huge changes here. The owner had some question marks but look at the changes from here on, there are big changes in the team. You can question the owner, some did, but at the end of the day, the big picture is a good thing, a lot of good will, a lot of good feeling in the area, the city, everywhere. That’s the big picture.”
