Jobs up 47,246 over 2022 – Wage growth up 2.1% year over year
The number of employees who were employed under private law dependent labor in 2023 compared to 2022 has increased by 47,246 new jobs, showing an annual increase of 2.10%.
In particular, from the processing of the data drawn from the “ERGANI” Information Systemin the context of the annual filing of the personnel statements of all the companies that employ employees with a dependent private law employment relationship in the year 2023, it appears that the employees (as natural persons) with a private law employment relationship amount to 2,296,845.

Accordingly, according to the recorded data of the “ERGANI” Information System for the year 2022, the employees (as natural persons) with a private law employment relationship amounted to 2,249,599, while the number of employees employed in jobs amounted to 2,361. 342 (total covered jobs).
The amount of wages in 2023
Based on the data of the “ERGANI” Information System for 2023, 284,134 employees (12.37%) had a monthly salary of up to 500 euros, for 77,145 employees (3.36%) the range of monthly salary ranged from 501 euros to 600 euros , 54,505 employees (2.37%) received a salary between €601 and €700 and 293,928 employees (12.80%) had a monthly salary between €701 and €800.
Also, the monthly salary range was between €801 and €900 for 193,472 workers (8.42%), while 329,847 workers (14.36%) received monthly earnings between €901 and €1,000.
Between €1,001 and €1,200 were received by 373,163 employees (16.25%), the percentage of employees who were paid between €1,201 and €1,500 reached 11.21% (257,574 employees) and 208,623 employees (9.08%) had monthly salaries from 1,501 euros to 2,000 euros.
Finally, the range of monthly salary ranged from €2,001 to €2,500 for 92,565 employees (4.03%), 48,401 employees (2.11%) received monthly earnings from €2,501 to €3,000, while the salary was greater than €3,000 for 83,488 employees (3.63%).
