Panel SA: Grandson of Maksoud founder counters move by father and uncle to join heirs meeting

The president of the Maksoud group, Henry Maksoud Neto, will appeal the decision that allowed his father, Roberto, his uncle, Claudio, and his grandfather’s widow, Georgina Célia Bezerra, to participate in the next meeting of the heirs of Henry Maksoud’s estate. , founder of the hotel that bore the family’s surname.

Neto argues that the will left by his grandfather is “clear in stating that the management of the company must be exercised exclusively” by him.

When Maksoud died in 2014, Claudio and Roberto contested the will, in which the father dedicated 50% of his fortune to his second wife and grandson.

Last week, Claudio, Roberto and Georgina managed to maintain the decision that authorized them to participate in the meeting of heirs and propose the dismissal of Maksoud Neto from the role of administrator of Hidroservice Engenharia.

The group’s founder’s estate owns 99.9% of the company, which was the parent company of the hotel, which closed on December 7 of last year.

In a note, Maksoud Neto says that the company’s articles of association prohibits the entry of the three heirs as a partner in the business group, which would also prevent them from participating in any deliberation. “Much less to remove their administrator,” he says.
