The tension on the Ukrainian border was far from the concerns of the group of Brazilian businessmen who traveled to Russia this week to follow Bolsonaro’s agenda and meet with authorities and representatives of the local business community, according to Fernando Castro Marques, president of União Química, which is a member the entourage.
“There’s no tension. That doesn’t exist. There’s the greatest tranquility. It doesn’t make any sense. It’s a climate of peace”, said the businessman to Panel SA.
At the meeting of Brazilian and Russian businessmen this Tuesday (15), according to Castro Marques, the main topic was the intention to increase commercial and industrial exchange between the two countries.
“There are already important agreements between Brazil and Russia. What we intend to do is to expand business. President Bolsonaro was not afraid to come here, even because he has no reason to be afraid. And to sign and expand the business of interest with Brazil”, he says.
Castro Marques says that the real concern of the private sector is still the cost of transport.
“What we have is the problem of higher freight costs, due to the increase in oil, shortage of containers. That’s what we dealt with. A problem that isn’t with this part of the world specifically. It’s with the whole world. today’s problem. The rest, everything flows well, expanding shipments to Brazil and everything flowing well”, he says.
The businessman also removes annoyances in relation to the business involving the vaccine of União Química. The pharmaceutical company, which is responsible for Sputnik in Brazil, had a broken contract with the Brazilian government.
“Zero frustration. Even because our contract was with imported Sputnik. Our verticalized production process with technology transfer from Russia continues. And now, we have expanded an inspection of Russia to be able to continue supplying, producing Sputnik to serve several nations”, it says.
Also participating in this Tuesday’s meeting in Moscow were the owner of Marfrig, Marcos Molina, and other representatives of health and agribusiness sector entities. A document with the priorities of the private sector in Brazil and Russia for the meeting with Bolsonaro should come out of there.
