Coleman: “Asteras is a serious team, it will be difficult but we must have faith”

by

THE Chris Coleman spoke to Action 24 and talked about the new start of his career in Asteras AKTOR. The Welsh technician spoke in the best words about the Arkades, stressing that they are one serious team and he needs faith and self-confidence in this difficult period he is going through.

In addition, the Coleman he referred to Astera’s upcoming match against Kifissia, noting that it will not be an easy game.

On the return to Superleague with Asteras AKTOR:

“I’m excited to be back, it’s a good opportunity. When I was at Atromitos, we played against Asteras many times. We’ve played here too, of course, so I know what the facilities and environment are like. Asteras has a very good reputation, they are a very good and very serious team. I know things have been tough this year. This season has been tough.

The beginning was tough, he did not win any match in the first six matches. So I know how big the challenge is. It’s really a big challenge. But I know the club is solid, with serious people and good facilities. Like I said, I like the Greek league, I like Greek football. It’s exciting, full of passion.”

On what is missing from this year’s Star:

“The biggest thing missing is faith. Because, for most teams that are going through a difficult period, when you don’t win games, then you lose your confidence and that feeling of winning, the positive energy around the whole club. You lose it because we haven’t won in six games in a row.

It’s normal, it happens in every club, in every team. You can only “break” this cycle when you win. And when you win, you get a little confidence. You take that confidence, you build it, you keep working hard and you get a rhythm.

And so you move away from the bottom of the standings and into a more secure position. But the first, most important thing for us is to find that good feeling again. The only way to move from a losing mindset to a winning mindset takes time, effort, and honesty. And we have to find a way to win a game as soon as possible, just to change the whole feel around here. As for whether we play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, that’s another issue, a tactical issue.”

On his goals with Asteras:

“I have not set long-term goals. These two weeks that we have been together, this next game against Kifisia will be really difficult, the most important game for us, big, very big game.

Kifisia has made a very good start to the season, they are a dangerous team. So I don’t even know who we are playing after Kifisia, first Kifisia”.
