Some companies begin to mobilize this Wednesday (16) to send donations to victims of floods and landslides caused by the storm in Petrópolis, a city in the mountain region of Rio de Janeiro.
iFood partnered with the NGO Ação da Cidadania to direct cash donations received through the app to help the region. Users can donate amounts from R$ 2, according to the company.
Claro says that it will provide internet bonuses to the city’s customers’ cell phones to assist in communication with family members and support centers.
Enel promises to deliver 400 basic baskets and 3,000 hygiene kits in partnership with social entities, in addition to allocating refrigerators to residents of the region.
The water and sewage company Águas do Rio says it sent a truck with mineral water to Petrópolis and is receiving donations of food, hygiene products, clothes and shoes at its units.
Grupo Águas do Brasil, which operates the Petrópolis sanitation concessionaire, is collecting donations in its stores.
Ancar Ivanhoe shopping malls, such as Nova América, Madureira and Leblon, collect water and hygiene and cleaning items for the NGO Ação da Cidadania.
UniãoBR, a voluntary movement created in the first year of the pandemic, is raising funds to support Petrópolis. The institution already operates in Maranhão, Bahia and Minas Gerais, which were also affected by the floods recently. The focus is on receiving water, food, mattress and hygiene items.
Coca-Cola, in partnership with the NGO Ação da Cidadania, is donating water and juice to the region.
brMalls malls and ESPM are also collecting donations of food, mineral water and hygiene products.
