Upward trends prevailed in today’s session of the Stock Exchange, with the market breaking upwards and the resistance of 1,410 units, approaching the levels of 1,420 units. Banking shares were at the center of investment interest.

The General Price Index closed at 1,417.75 points, marking an increase of 1.17%. Intra-sessionally it recorded a higher price at 1,419.26 units (+1.28%).

The value of transactions amounted to 120.72 million euros, while 30,128,553 shares were traded.

The large-cap index gained 1.69%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.39%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Eurobank (+5.41%), Mytileneos (+4.08%), Piraeus (+2.53%), Ethniki (+2.48 %) and Alpha Bank (+2.10%).

On the contrary, the largest decline was recorded by the shares of Motor Oil (-1.12%), Titan (-0.76%) and Terna Energy (-0.28%).

Eurobank and Alpha Bank presented the largest volume of transactions, trading 8,842,776 and 6,847,168 shares, respectively.

The highest transaction value was recorded by Piraeus with 19.24 million euros and National with 17.41 million euros.

65 stocks moved up, 38 fell and 22 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Kecrops +17.22% and Akritas +9.19%.

The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Xylemporia (p) -12.37% and Daios -5.79%.
