Russian investigators allege that the Burisma company acted as an intermediary for funds used “in recent years to commit terrorist acts in Russia and abroad
THE Research Committee of Russia announced today the launch of a “terrorist financing” investigation on behalf of Ukraineimplicating the US and its allies, notably invoking the name of a Ukrainian company where US President Joe Biden’s son worked.
“The investigation (…) examines the sources and movements of funds, amounting to several million US dollars and the involvement of collaborators of the authorities and governmental and commercial organizations of Western countries,” the Commission said in a press release, citing the name of Burisma gas companyin whose board of directors he was a member Hunter Biden.
The investigators claim, without presenting the details of the file, that Burisma acted as an intermediary for funds used “in recent years to commit terrorist acts in Russia and abroad aimed at exterminating personalities.”
They did not suggest specific events, but Ukraine has been the main suspect in carrying out the targeted killings since the start of the Kremlin’s attack on the country two years ago.
Russia also believes that Ukraine is involved, on the part of jihadistsin the March 22 attack on the concert hall Crocus City Hall, on the outskirts of Moscow, in which 144 people were killed. Kiev and Western countries reject this version of events as no evidence has been verified so far, especially since the Islamic State group claimed responsibility.
According to Russia’s Investigative Committee, the investigations were launched following a request by Russian parliamentarians regarding “the financing of terrorist activities by high-ranking officials of the US and its countries NATO».
Hunter Biden’s partnership with Burisma is a favorite topic of Republican opponents of the White House, who accuse the Biden family of controversial activities.
The son of the US president denies doing anything illegal or immoral, just like his father.
