Fines amounting to 206,500 euros were imposed by the Ministry of Development on six companies in the Region of Crete (three in Heraklion and three in Rethymno) following targeted audits carried out by the Inter-Service Market Control Unit (DIMEA) in the period 8 to 10 April 2024.

As stated in the relevant announcement, a total of 23,897 pieces of counterfeit products were detected, seized and destroyed.

Imitation products they carried the brands of international houses and were sold at very high prices, like the originals. DIMEA’s cooperation with EL.AS., the Customs Audit Service of Crete (ELYT) and the Mobile Control Team of Crete (K.O.E.) was important. DIMEA’s inspections continue throughout the territory.
