Legislation that will reduce by 50% bank charges at POS was announced by the Minister of National Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis speaking on SKAI TV.

The relevant amendment is expected to be tabled this week or next week at the latest in Parliament.

As Mr. Hatzidakis said, the charges for small amounts are high and after discussions, the legislative regulation was decided which will reduce them by 50% for amounts up to 10 euros.

Tax statements

For tax statements Mr. Hatzidakis said that within the week the platform opens for their submission and clarified that no extension will be given after July 31, when the deadline for their submission expires.

Mr. Hatzidakis also clarified that no extension will be given to the POS – cash register interface and added that on May 2nd a circular will be issued with all the details.

He added that the tax office has started to notify the 25,000 “disappeared” who have not made an appointment and that they have already been fined.
