Stock prices closed lower in today’s Stock Exchange session, amid a bearish climate in European markets.

The market corrected after six bullish sessions, during which the main stock index registered a total gain of 6.74%.

The General Price Index closed at 1,435.19 points, down 0.93%.

Intra-session recorded a lower price at 1,434.89 units (-0.95%).

The value of transactions amounted to 142.87 million euros, while 34,872,381 shares were traded.

The large-cap index fell 0.95%, while the mid-cap index fell 0.98%.

Of the large-cap stocks, the biggest gains were recorded by the shares of Jumbo (+0.56%) and Alpha Bank (+0.25%).

On the contrary, the biggest fall was recorded by the shares of Viohalco (-3.14%), PPA (-2.61%), Sarantis (-2.53%), Motor Oil (-2.49%), Elvalhalcor (-2.36%) and Ellactor (-2.12%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Eurobank and Piraeus, trading 11,247,179 and 8,917,233 shares, respectively.

The highest value of transactions was recorded by Piraeus with 34.76 million euros and Eurobank with 22.53 million euros.

33 stocks moved up, 82 fell and 18 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: CNL Capital +13.67% and VIS +9.89%.

The largest decline was registered by the shares: Leventeris (p) -8.70% and Mylos Loulis -6.03%.
