Panel SA: Manufacturer of the 2nd approved Covid self-test predicts product in the pharmacy after Carnival

by

Eco Diagnóstica, which had its self-test for Covid-19 approved by Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) this Wednesday (23), plans to place the first shipment of the product in pharmaceutical retail soon after Carnival.

The initial forecast is to deliver 1 million units per week for the whole country, according to Vinicius Pereira, president of the company.

The exams are the same ones already sold by the manufacturer to laboratories and pharmacies, with the adapted packaging. According to the company, the self-tests should reach the final consumer at a price between R$ 49.90 and R$ 69.90, a value that is below the versions currently available, because the application service is not included.

This is the second self-test record approved by Anvisa. The first was that of the company CPMH Comércio e Indústria de Produtos Medicos Hospitales e Odontológicas, last Thursday (17).

So far, Anvisa has received at least 70 registration requests in the country.

The regulatory agency authorized the sale of self-tests in Brazil on January 28, but each supplier must apply for registration to market the product.
