As the minister mentioned, “by recording working hours accurately and in real time, it is ensured that employees are paid fairly, while limiting the phenomena of undeclared or implied work and tax evasion”.
In fact, presenting data from its application Digital Job Card in the sectors where it is applied, i.e. in supermarkets, banks, security companies and DEKO, Mrs. Michailidou emphasized that more than 3,500 workers from 250 companies have been paid their accrued wages, because they were detected by the electronic control of the Digital Labor Card. “With the Digital Work Card, we ensure the protection of employees and consistent businesses,” the minister underlined.
Also, Mrs. Michailidou referred to the decision of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, to start on July 1, 2024, the full implementation of the Digital Labor Card in the companies that fall under the branches of industry and retail trade, as well as in public markets.
