The Lavrio Port Organization is the third largest port of Attica
Eight investment schemes submitted Expression of Interest files as part of the competition for the utilization of the Lavrio Port Organization S.A. through the sale of a majority interest (at least 50% plus one share) in the Organization’s share capital.
In particular, the following figures showed interest (in alphabetical order):
- GEK TERNA SA
- INTERKAT SA
- Consortium ASSOCIATION OF PERSONS JET PLAN SHIPPING Co LTD – ACTOR CONCESSIONS S.A.
- Joint venture GPH CRUISE PORT FINANCE LTD – PROMARINE SA
- Joint venture OLYMPIC MARINE SA – MSC CRUISES SA
- GULFAINER COMPANY LTD
- IOTC INVESTMENTS SCS
- ISRAEL SHIPYARDS INDUSTRIES LTD
According to TAIPED, after evaluating the submitted Expression of Interest files, candidates who meet the pre-selection criteria will be invited to participate in Phase II of the tender, which concerns the submission of binding offers.
It is noted that the company “Lavrio Port Authority SA” (ALL SA) has the exclusive right to use and exploit the grounds, buildings and facilities of the Lavrio Port, through a Concession Agreement concluded with the Greek State with a duration of 60 years from its entry into force (valid until the year 2062).
The duration of the concession contract may be extended and, if a relevant decision is taken, it will be announced on the TAIPED website, before the publication of the Request for Binding Offers from the investors who will qualify for the B΄ Phase of the tender process.
The port of Lavrio is the third largest port of Attica and, due to its proximity to popular tourist destinations, Eleftherios Venizelos Airport as well as the ports of Piraeus and Rafina, it is particularly suitable for tourism development, with activities such as cruising and yacht mooring.
