The fourth request for the disbursement of resources, amounting to 1 billion euros, from Recovery and Resilience Fundfor grants, which concerns 20 milestones and goals submitted today to European Commission the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Mr. Nikos Papathanasisas announced.

It was preceded in April by the corresponding 4th request for the disbursement of resources, amounting to 2.3 billion euros, for the loan part of the TAA after the achievement, and in fact earlier than predicted, of the goal of contracting TAA loan resources. In total, the disbursements to Greece under the Fund, which are expected in the coming months, now amount to 3.3 billion euros.

At the same time, a request was submitted to the European Commission for targeted technical modifications of the “Greece 2.0” National Plan.

The Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Mr. Nikos Papathanasis, stated:

“With today’s submission of the 4th disbursement request of €1 billion for grants from the Recovery Fund, another cycle of implementing goals and milestones is completed. Thus, following the 4th disbursement request of 2.3 billion euros for the loan component, the total amount of disbursements will exceed 50% of the total resources that the country is entitled to receive under the National Plan “Greece 2.0”.

The projects included in the request are the best answer to the complaints about the alleged channeling of resources to “the few and the big”. The specific funds will be promoted until the last euro, to further cover the investment gap, to strengthen entrepreneurship, infrastructure, Education and Health, to improve the daily life of citizens, and of course, to create new and better-paid jobs for all our fellow citizens”.

The Minister of State, Mr. Akis Schertsoswrite down:

“With the completion of 5 more reform milestones in the fields of green energy with the increase in the participation of RES in our energy mix, the faster administration of justice with the training of judges and court officials, the rationalization of pharmaceutical expenditure which also leads to a reduction of clawback and simplification of tax legislation, aiming at a stable and fair tax environment, Greece is moving forward to become more European, more productive and fairer.

Thanks to the efforts of the relevant ministries, we have already completed 1/3 of our reform commitments in the context of the Recovery Fund and we continue with the aim of remaining in the first positions of the European ranking in terms of the absorption and utilization of TAA resources”.

The Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, Mr. Thanasis Kontogeorgisunderlined:

“The submission of the 4th disbursement request within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0” is yet another proof of the persistence of the Prime Minister and the Greek government on the path of the necessary reforms that bring us closer to Europe.

Our country remains in the first positions in the absorption of resources from the TAA, resources necessary for the strengthening of the social state, the productive transformation of the economy, the strengthening of public and private investments, the improvement of justice and public administration, the individual well-being of each citizen. On this path of stability, which strengthens our credibility and negotiating power in the EU, we must continue with intensive work and determination.”

The administrator of the Recovery Fund, Mr. Orestis Kavalakisstated:

“With the submission of the 4th payment request for the Recovery Fund grants, the total liquidity from Recovery Fund resources will reach €18.2 billion – more than half of the total available budget. These resources are channeled into actions that directly concern businesses and citizens and improve the conditions of their daily life and activity”.
