The nominal value of private sector loans increased by €579 million to €70.045 billion
In the first quarter of the year, the volume of bad loans that have been transferred to debt management companies increased.
According to the data of the Bank of Greece, in the first quarter of 2004 the nominal value of the loans of the private sector of the interior, which are managed by the domestic credit institutions and have been transferred to specialized financial institutions abroad, increased by 579 million euros to 70.045 billion . euro.
In more detail, the nominal value of business loans under management increased to 22,903 billion euros at the end of the first quarter of 2024, from 22,848 billion. euros at the end of the previous quarter.
More specifically, the nominal value of loans to non-financial enterprises (NFEs) increased by 55 million euros and amounted to 22.865 billion euros at the end of the first quarter of 2024. Of the loans under management to NFEs, an amount of 11.500 billion .euro refers to loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The nominal value of loans under management to other financial institutions remained unchanged at 38 million euros at the end of the A’ quarter of 2024 compared to the end of the previous quarter.
The nominal value of loans under management to self-employed professionals, farmers and sole proprietorships increased by EUR 145 million compared to the previous quarter and stood at EUR 9.196 billion at the end of Q1 2024.
Loans to individuals and private non-profit institutions
The nominal value of loans under management to individuals and private non-profit institutions increased by EUR 380 million compared to the previous quarter and stood at EUR 37.946 billion at the end of Q1 2024.
In more detail, consumer loans under management showed an increase of 35 million euros and amounted to 15.666 billion euros. Mortgage loans under management showed an increase of 346 million euros and amounted to 21.992 billion euros.
