Today Thursday in fact, in a special event held in the under development area, in the presence of the prime minister Kyriakou Mitsotakis, Achilleas Konstantakopoulos, president of TEMES and main shareholder of Ionian Hotels, revealed the new name of the destination, which, he said, is inspired by the area in which it is hosted, the Ilysias, explained. In his intervention, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis pointed out that such investments essentially make the government’s vision for a tourism committed to quality and sustainability with respect to the residential scale a reality.
At the same time he spoke for multiplying benefits for the Greek economy, which overall in five years it will reach 1.25 billion euros.
This is an investment that will exceed 340 million, which, as Mr. Konstantakopoulos emphasized, will also have multiplier benefits for Athens as a whole.” The Hilton for 61 years has been an emblematic point of the city. Regarding the benefits that will arise for Athens, from the operation of the new destination “The Ilisian”, the professor of the University of Piraeus, Nikos Georgakopoulos, in a survey conducted by the educational institution, pointed out that these will be multiplicative as: for the 5 in its first years of operation, the impact of construction works amounts to 450 million euros, the impact of the residence of “The Ilisian” tenants in the capital amounts to 749 million euros, while the impact on commercial activity amounts to 75 million euros. At the same time they will be created 1,760 new direct and indirect jobs.
