What the company said a few days ago

In a statement issued a few days ago by the company, after the 48-hour “lockout ” from AADE in its store in Syntagma, said:

“We are currently experiencing some technical and regulatory difficulties with our checkout system, due to our locations at 11 Ermou Street will be closed for 48 hours (from 16/06/2024 to 18/06/2024).

This situation came to our attention through the Greek tax authorities. Our local teams are working hard to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

We are in close dialogue with the payment system provider as soon as the matter was brought to our attention. It is our highest priority at this time to find out and make sure that the situation is resolved immediately and does not happen again.

The AADE auditors visited the H&M store in Syntagma based on the data they had available on their tablets from the ELEGCHOSlive system which sees in real time the tax behavior of the products.

During the audit, it was found that the particular store, from January 15 to June 12 of this year, cut, but did not delete, 21,100 receipts, worth 576,000 euros, including VAT of 111,500 euros. In other words, the cash registers had stopped their connection with AADE for almost six months as auditors of the Independent Public Revenue Authority found.

The H&M store in Syntagma was fined 56,000 euros, as provided by law, and locked for 48 hours. At the same time, the auditors are also examining the movements and other stores of the well-known clothing chain to determine if there are similar violations there as well.”
