A “safari” to businesses of health interest, to identify violations of labor – insurance and tax legislation, was carried out by the Economic Police Directorate and the Economic Police Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece, during the four days from June 20 to 23, 2024.

The audits were carried out in a total of 17 businesses in the areas of Athens, Mykonos and Pieria, while in one of them a violation of the tax legislation was found, for which a suspension of operation is foreseen for 48 hours.

In particular, in the context of the controls, it was found:

In areas of Athens:

  • in a traditional coffee shop, to employ -4- employees who were not listed in the annual staff list,
  • in a business providing food and beverage services, to employ -3- employees who were not listed in the annual staff list and
  • in a cafe-bar, to employ an employee who was not registered in the annual staff list as well as an employee outside the listed hours.

In areas of Mykonos:

  • in a catering business, to employ an employee outside of working days, while at the same time it was found that at least one of the required retail sales documents for the tax year 2024 was not issued, 1,050.09 euros, a violation for which it is foreseen to suspend its operation for 48 hours,
  • in a beach bar, to employ -6- workers outside of working days,
  • in a tourism business company, to employ an employee outside of working days and an employee outside of working hours,
  • in a cafeteria-night entertainment center, to employ an employee outside the working day and an employee outside the working hours,
  • in a business operating amusement and entertainment venues, to employ -3- employees outside working hours,
  • in a catering business, to employ -4- workers who were not registered in the personnel tables and
  • in a fast food business, to employ an employee who was not registered on the staff lists.

In areas of Pieria:

  • in a steakhouse – beach bar, to employ -19- workers, for whom no staff list was shown, while at the same time it was found that -3- receipts with a total gross value of -67.80- euros were not issued,
  • in a cafe – beach bar, to employ -6- employees, of which one was not registered in the displayed personnel tables and -5- outside working hours, while at the same time it was found that -8- receipts with a total gross value of -110- euros were not issued,
  • in a hotel – restaurant, to employ -2- workers who were not registered in the displayed personnel tables,
  • in a cafe – beach bar, to employ an employee outside working hours and
  • in a cafe-bar, to employ an employee outside of working hours, while at the same time it was found that -7- receipts were not issued, with a total gross value of -55.03- euros.

For the above cases, the competent services (D.OY., P.E.K.A., S.E.P.E.) will be informed for the imposition of the corresponding administrative sanctions.
