So far, they have received notification: 22,730 taxpayers whose details have changed since the initial preclearance
Regarding the automated submission of tax returns above from 1.4 million taxpayersmainly employees and pensioners, are reminded of the following:
This year, for the first time, the Independent Inland Revenue Authority proceeded to facilitate these citizens:
Making available to them a special file (pre-clearance) with the tax result (debit or credit) resulting from their declaration, which is pre-filled by the AADE with all the information it has, and giving them the possibility not to submit the their declaration, as long as they consider that the pre-filled data is correct and complete.
In particular, as has been pointed out, these taxpayers:
As long as they believe the information is accurate and there are no other items that have not been pre-filled, they do not need to take any action to submit their return. This is finalized by AADE on Tuesday 2/7/2024.
If they wish, they can submit their pre-filled declaration earlier.
If the information is incomplete or not accurate, these taxpayers are required to amend and/or complete the correct information and submit their declaration, by the deadline for its submission, 26/7/2024. In particular, until Monday 1/7/2024 they can submit an initial declaration, while from Tuesday 2/7 until Friday 26/7/2024 they can submit an amending declaration, without penalties (initial declaration pending).
To further facilitate these citizens, to check the accuracy of the information that has been pre-filled in their declaration, from 21/6/2024 the pre-clearance file of the declaration is also immediately available in the AADE myAADEapp application.
To date, based on the data kept in the AADE systems:
In a total of 1,232,538 declarations (1,429,670 taxpayers), for which their declaration was pre-cleared, 852,500 taxpayers have submitted declarations.
Furthermore, as it was pointed out, taxpayers who have been selected for the process of automatic submission of the return by AADE, as well as those who have submitted returns before the submission deadline, will be updated on a weekly basis via e-mail and in their inbox in myAADE and myAADEapp for changes to the data that AADE has received for them from third parties (eg employers, credit institutions), so that they can check if their tax liability changes and take the necessary actions.
So far, they have received notification: 22,730 taxpayers whose details have changed since the initial pre-clarificationhave not yet submitted a declaration themselves and need to check the result of the new pre-clearance.
8,036 taxpayers who, due to new information that has emerged for them (eg change of tax residence or marital status, submission of amending returns for 2022, which affects pre-clearance for 2023, etc.), now need to submit their return themselves .
At the same time, the notification of the taxpayers, for whom newer information was sent to AADE, after submitting their declaration, is being launched, in order to check the correctness of the new information and to make an amending declaration or any other necessary action.
Therefore, the process is progressing normally, within the framework that was originally announced.
