Entrepreneurship in Greece shows positive trends with businesses that started their activity in the first half of 2024 being almost four times the number of businesses that were deleted.

As can be seen from the data, during the specific period, the balance of entries-deletions increased by 15.8%reaching 3,787 in 2024 from 3,271 in 2023. More specifically, new registrations increased significantly to 5,092 in the first 6 months of 2024 compared to 4,646 in the corresponding period of 2023. At the same time, the number of deletions was kept at relatively stable levels, up slightly from 1,375 in the first half of 2023 to 1,385 in 2024. In addition, most new business registrations are in the service sector, followed by commercial and industrial businesses.

Commenting on these data, h President of EBEA, Mrs. Sofia Kounenaki Efraimoglouemphasized: “The significant increase in new business registrations in Greece confirms the positive dynamics of Greek entrepreneurship. Despite the difficulties, Greek businesses continue to innovate and develop, creating new services and jobs, effectively strengthening the Greek economy. We must continue to support them with favorable policies for entrepreneurship and investment, promoting sustainable growth and productivity transformation.”
