“There is no reason to give any extension if the submission continues at such a rate”, the representative of the Ministry of Finance, Homeros Tsapalos, told SKAI
The tax experts request an extension for the filing of the tax returnswith the press representative of the Ministry of National Economy, Homer Tsapalosto point out to SKY that the schedule that has been made public for over 2 months is being followed, with a final date of July 26.
“Within these 75 days, 4.7 million tax returns have been submitted and the impressive thing is that compared to the corresponding period last year there is a substantial increase of more than 2 million”, said Mr. Tsapalos, adding that if the accountants continue with the same rates, i.e. submission of 110,000 statements per day, then with mathematical precision the goal of July 26th will be reached.
In addition, he underlined that “for the first time this year, 1.4 million retired employees were given the opportunity to see both their pre-filled and automatically submitted returns. Of those, about 435,000 chose to do so, of which there was a need for some modification. However, the time required for a tax preparer to make an amendment is much less than doing a tax return from scratch.”
