It is optional for citizens from tomorrow, July 17, to disclose their account’s IVAN, before submitting their income tax return for the tax year 2023, since they are not entitled to a tax refund from the return, according to the decision of AADE governor George Pitsilis.

However, it is pointed out that for those taxpayers who receive an income tax refund, they must proceed with an IBAN declaration before submitting the declaration, in order to be refunded the amount.

It is noted that from 25/4, the start date of submission of tax returns, to date, 1,849,404 IBANs have been declared, making the total number of taxpayers with a declared IBAN at 8,084,608. In addition, 92,150 tax refund beneficiaries corresponding to 45 million euros have not declared their IVAN, of which 85,866 are natural persons and their refund amounts to 13.5 million euros.

The IVAN can be declared at:

  • myAADE digital portal (myaade.gov.gr), following the path Register & Contact > IBAN Account Statement
  • myAADEapp mobile application by selecting Contact Information > IBAN.
