812,958 people were registered as unemployed in the register of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) in June 2024recording decrease by -53,491 people (-6.2%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year June 2023 and an increase of 18,206 people (2.3%) compared to the previous month May 2024.

According to the DYPA registered unemployment statistics, out of a total of 812,958 people, 451,016 people (55.5%) are registered in the DYPA register for a period equal to or longer than 12 months and 361,942 (44.5%) are registered in the DYPA register for a period of less than 12 months.

The men rose to 262,114 people (percentage of 32.2%) and women amounted to 550,844 persons (rate 67.8%).

The 30-44 age group gathered the largest number of registered unemployed among the age groups, which amounted to 261,693 people (32.2%).

The secondary education level, which includes post-secondary education, gathered the largest number of registered unemployed among the education levels, which amounted to in 371,039 people (45.6% rate).Among the Regions of the country, the Region of Attica and the Region of Central Macedonia recorded the largest number of registered unemployed, which amounted to 286,276 people (percentage of 35.2%) and 163,095 persons (percentage of 20.1%) respectively.

The total of the subsidized unemployed, in June 2024, (refers to the number of beneficiaries paid within the corresponding month), amounted to 105,374 people, of which 96,709 (91.8%) are general unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed and 8,665 (rate 8.2%) are seasonal tourist occupations.

In particular, the number of subsidized unemployed people, in June 2024, amounted to 105,374 people, registering a decrease of -2,924 people (-2.7%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, June 2023, and an increase of 23,919 people (29 .4%) compared to the previous month of May 2024.

The men rose to 44,190 (41.9% rate) and women in 61,184 (58.1% rate).

Of the total number of subsidized unemployed, 92,216 (87.5% rate) are common, 2,269 (2.2% rate) are builders, 8,665 (8.2% rate) are seasonal tourist occupations, 1,042 (1% rate) are seasonal other (rural), 1,071 (percentage 1%) are teachers and 111 (percentage 0.1%) are others.
