A significant increase in student housing rents is recorded in the largest student towns in Greece

In Athens, the lowest average asking price per square meter of a student house is found in the area of ​​Nikaia, Patision-Acharnon and Kypseli, while the highest price is observed in the Kolonaki-Lykavittos area and in the Koukaki-Makryiannis area. For example, an apartment under 65 sq.m. in the area of ​​Zografou, which is one of the most popular student districts due to its proximity to the University Campus and the Polytechnic University, costs an average of 516 euros. 400 euros is the price of a studio in Nikaia, which is one of the cheapest areas of Attica for looking for student housing. The biggest increase in the average asking price of student housing was recorded in the center of Athens and in Metz.
Thessaloniki: The prices of student housing in the co-capital increased by 9.4%
The co-capital is also a popular student town as it houses some of the country’s largest higher education institutions. The price of the student house in several areas of Thessaloniki and its Suburbs is below 10.0 euros/sq.m. with the exception of the center, while the areas of Evosmos and Stavroupoli stand out as the most economical areas for renting a student house in Thessaloniki. The areas with the highest average asking prices per square meter are the center of Thessaloniki and 40 Ekklisies – Evangelistria. The largest increases in the average asking price per square meter of a student house were noted in the Analipsi-Botsari-Nea Paralia area, as well as in the Evosmos area, where one of the lowest average asking prices for renting a studio is recorded (353 euros).
Rest of Greece: Increases in average asking prices of student housing in most of the country’s student towns
Many candidates are looking for a student house in student towns in the rest of Greece. The lowest average asking prices of student houses were recorded in Lamia and Agrinio, while the highest were recorded in places of intense tourist interest, such as Corfu and Rethymnon. The biggest price increases were noted in Chalkida and Trikala.
