The deal will expand United Group’s DTH services to 8 countries of 40 million
In the integration of satellite television broadcast services (Direct To Home – DTH) in the countries where it operates United Group went ahead, parent of Nova. In this context – as stated in a relevant announcement – the Eutelsat Group has been selected as the exclusive operator for the provision of satellite capacity.
In particular, the announcement emphasizes that the transition to the new generation DTH platformwith one operator, includes the use of both of its satellites, and is expected to be completed until the end of 2025. The integration will also include a terminal (STB), access system (CAS), single size receiving antenna (TVRO) and connection teleport.
This agreement will extend United Group’s DTH services to 8 countries of 40 million (Greece, Bulgaria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia) through Nova, Telemach, Bulsatcom, VIVACOM, SBB and Total TV.
The consolidation and reorganization of the Group’s DTH services will enable United Group to leverage new transmission standards and compression technologies, expand transmission capacities, support more channels, increase quality and support innovative services, such as the total utilization of television channels, for the benefit of television content subscribers.

HOTBIRD satellites today reach 130 million homes across Europe, including almost all cable networks in the region. In addition, the Eutelsat 16A satellite provides over 600 TV channels in various languages ​​to over 25 million households in Central and Eastern Europe.
