The merger of Attica Bank with Pancreatia Bank has been completed – The 5th largest bank in the country is created
The merger of Attica Bank with Pankritia Bank was formally completed today, creating the 5th largest bank in Greece based on estimated assets.
As stated in a related announcement, the completion of the merger, within demanding schedules and with unprecedented speed – a few weeks after the Shareholders’ Agreement – marks a new era for the single bank and the country’s financial system as a whole.
After the approvals from the competent supervisory authorities, the Bank of Greece and the Competition Commission, as well as the General Assemblies of Attica Bank and Pankritia Bank, following the decision of the Ministry of Development and its publication in GEMI, the merger was completed with the absorption of Pankritia.
The goal of Attica Bank together with Pankritia Bank is to strengthen competition by offering a real alternative to the financial system with new products and better pricing of services and supplies, where customers and their needs are at the center of banking service.
The benefits of the merger for the customers of both AtticaBank and Pankritia are already a fact, as from tomorrow all the customers of the now unified bank will be able to use both Attica Bank and Pankritia ATMs for their withdrawals without any charge, regardless of where they kept their bank account until now. Also, the two banks have already zeroed out the fees for transferring funds between their customers’ accounts, both for transactions carried out in physical stores and in their e-banking and mobileapps. The officers of the new bank are available to the public to answer any questions and queries in the two branch networks, as well as on the available telephone numbers: 210 3669000 for Attica Bank customers and 2810 338800 for Pankritia customers.
The Managing Director of the Bank, Mrs. Eleni Vrettou, said: “We are opening a new page in the history of the two banks, a new chapter that we really want to be a benchmark for the financial system in Greece. We are all working towards a new big, strong and powerful bank, which will be a model in serving customers and financing their needs. The challenge is great, but we intend to fully respond. With the undivided support of our shareholders and with the tireless efforts of our people – excellent teams from both banks who, with will and good cooperation, will make our shared vision a reality. The new bank is a fact and comes as a reminder that banking faith is cultivated and developed by people for people.”
