Businesses, and especially industry, in Greece are faced with electricity costs that threaten their very existence, as they are required to operate at much higher costs than their competitors. There is an urgent need for Europe to react in order to correct structural weaknesses, but also for Greece to proceed with immediate measures, as other European countries are doing.

The cost of electricity is of key importance for the competitiveness, sustainability and development of industrial production and businesses, while it is a determining factor in shaping inflation.

The need to shield businesses, and especially industry, is imperative as there is a risk that they will not be able to meet their obligations. In this direction, we emphasize the need to take immediate measures, as structural interventions cannot be achieved in such narrow time frames.
