The multifaceted program of Corporate Social Responsibility Equal – For a Society of Equal People, was created by Piraeus in March 2022 and includes actions aimed at contributing to gender equality, eliminating gender stereotypes, supporting the new generation and vulnerable social groups. At the same time, it expresses the Bank’s commitment to listen to the needs of Greek society and to actively participate in the effort for sustainable development, progress and prosperity.

Gender Equality is one of the pillars of the Equal program. This pillar includes the following actions aimed at supporting and empowering women:

In the context of the training, live sessions (experiential learning) are also held with farmers who present best practices of their cultivation and/or business.

In addition, the training modules are designed and carried out in collaboration with the Alba Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece and the American Agricultural School for women entrepreneurs.

Profession has no Gender

The education program Profession has no Gender, which also concerns Gender Equality, has been included in the pillar of actions for the New Generation. It is implemented in collaboration with The Tipping Point and is aimed at the students of public elementary, middle and high schools throughout Greece.

The program aims to raise awareness among young men and women regarding the choice of profession by breaking down the social stereotypes that are reproduced and act as brakes on their choices regarding the profession they wish to follow. In this context, students connect with mentors from Greece and abroad who are active in professions that are stereotypically intertwined with the different gender.

Particularly encouraging is the fact that since 2022, when it started, 3,716 students have participated in the program. For 2024, the goal of the program is to include 3,000 additional students.
