His measure comes into effect today Ring in its center of Athens and will be applied until July 10, 2026. The traffic restrictions concern the entry and movement within the small Ring, excluding, however, the avenues and streets located within its limits. Violators are subject to an administrative fine of 100 euros.

Where is the ring applied?

The Ring applies to the wider area of ​​the center of Athens, which is surrounded by the following streets and avenues:

Avenues and streets: Alexandras, Zakharov, Mesogeion, Fidippidou, Michalakopoulou, Sp. Merkouri, Vryaxidos, Ymitou, Iliou Island, Ambr. Frantzis, Andr. Syngrou, Hamosterna, Piraeus, Iera Odos, Konstantinoupoleos, Achilleos, Karaiskaki Square, Karolou, Marni, 28 October (Patision), and L. Alexandras.

Days and hours of validity of the Ring

The Ring measure applies from Monday to Friday, excluding holidays.

Monday to Thursday: from 07:00 to 20:00
Friday: from 07:00 to 15:00

The restrictions do not apply on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, as well as on public transport strike days.

Exceptions to the measures

Exempted from the measures are vehicles that have a special permit from the Attica Traffic Directorate, according to KYA 195948 (Government Gazette B’ 5627/10.10.2024).

The owners of these vehicles can issue a special traffic sign through the gov.gr digital platform, either in printed form or electronically.

Old licenses and permanent residents

The old traffic permits within the Ring, which were issued for the periods 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, remain in force for this year’s period as well.

Special arrangements are provided for vehicles belonging to permanent residents within the zone of the small ring. The owners of these vehicles have the right to enter and exit through designated zones, while their circulation requires the issuance of a special card by the competent services of the Municipality of Athens.
