“His new vision OTE Group is to develop into one of the leading digital telecommunication providers in Europe and thanks to its wide footprint to lead Greece to the top digitization positions in Europe” said the president and CEO Costas Nebis, speaking yesterday to the employees of the Group.

Sharing with them the new vision for OTE Group in 2030 and the roadmap to make it a reality, he presented OTE’s new strategy, which focuses on accelerating its growth and transformation and is based on three key commitments:

– to provide the best customer experience through leading digital products and connectivity services,

– to remain at the forefront of new generation networks and

– to shape an even more modern and efficient operating model, leveraging digital technologies, always with the support of its people.

These commitments are framed by a firm commitment to the principles of sustainable development, harnessing the power of a global group like Telekom and increasing value for shareholders.

During his speech, the president and managing director Costas Nebis stated that the new vision of the OTE Group is to develop into one of the leading digital telecommunication providers in Europe and thanks to its wide footprint to lead Greece to the top digitization positions in the Europe. To connect its customers, making their lives better and to empower businesses by helping them grow with the help of technology. And all this in a work environment that inspires its people to create, develop and evolve continuously.

In this direction, Mr. Nebis set five main priorities for the development of OTE.

In optical networks, the goal remains to cover 2/3 of the country’s lines with fiber to the home by 2027, thanks to an investment plan of more than 3 billion euros, emphasizing the transfer of most of the customer base to FTTH. In 5G, the priority is the utilization of the 3.5 GHz spectrum and the increase in the penetration of 5G devices.

As far as pay-TV is concerned, the aim is to increase the penetration of legal pay-TV close to the EU average, which is also confirmed by the recent agreements with Nova and Netflix.

In the field of corporate clients, the company will focus on continuing the successful course in ICT projects in both the public and private sectors, while significant room for growth also exists in the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises, as shown by the recent survey presented by COSMOTE with the University of Economics (ELTRUN).

Finally, the acceleration of the development of services in the new markets in which OTE operates (COSMOTE insurance, Box, Payzy) and eventual expansion to even more is a priority.

Recognizing the important steps already taken in the transformation of the company, the next step is to further strengthen the digital channels for sales and customer service and to accelerate the transformation of the operational and production model, leveraging Artificial Intelligence tools, cloud technologies and automation.

According to Mr. Nebi, improving the customer experience is a top priority, recognizing that there is significant room for improvement.

As he noted, the common denominator throughout this course is the company’s people and that is why OTE Group wants to strengthen its position as one of the most attractive employers in the country.

In closing, the head of the OTE Group expressed his belief that the lofty goals will be a challenge and inspiration for the company’s people and noted that “guided by our vision, our values and everything we have achieved over the years, I want to build together the OTE of 2030”.
