Today, the Eurogroup meeting will be held, where the agenda includes a discussion on the competitiveness of the eurozone, the European Capital Markets Union and the digital euro, as well as preparation for the eurozone summit on 18 October.
At the ECOFIN meeting, which will be held tomorrow, the ministers will be informed about the progress of the implementation of the Recovery Fund, while the revised national plans of Portugal and Lithuania are expected to be approved. The day’s debate also includes discussion of the economic impact of the war in Ukraine and the European Semester, as well as coordination of European positions ahead of the meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bankers (October 23-24) and the annual meeting of the International of the Monetary Fund (October 21-26). At the same time, it is expected that Council conclusions on climate finance will be adopted ahead of the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), which will take place on November 11-22.
On the sidelines of the meetings, Mr. Hatzidakis will have meetings with European officials.
