Increase by 195 million euros or 10.9% noted the turnover in the country’s businesses that provide accommodation, with the obligation to keep duplicate books and for which data are available on a monthly basis, in August this year and amounted to 1,990,448,438 euros, compared to 1,795,323,506 euros in August 2023.

At the same time, also according to ELSTAT, on catering services businesseswith the obligation to keep duplicate books and for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in August 2024 amounted to 345,373,083 euros, noting 9.6% increase in relation to August 2023, where it had risen to 315,047,023 euros.

Cumulatively for the businesses in the accommodation and catering services sectors, with an obligation to keep double-entry books and for which there are data available on a monthly basis, the turnover in August 2024 amounted to 2,335,821,521 euros, noting 10.7% increase in relation to August 2023, where it had risen to 2,110,370,529 euros.

For the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover in 2023 greater than 1%, the largest increase in turnover was observed in the Regional Unit of Rhodes (34%) and the smallest (3.2%) was recorded in the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki.
