After all, November and not October – despite initial information to the contrary – will be the month of retrospectives for thousands of pensioners.

These days o e-EFKA completes final checks on the backlogs of more than 45,000 retirees who are primarily dual-entitled. In other words, they are entitled to 2 pensions, e.g. one widow’s and one old-age or 2 pensions from different funds, e.g. Public and OAEE, OAEE and IKA and various other combinations. Among them there is also a small number of retirees who started or continued to work after retirement.

This package of retrospectives strictly concerns pensioners with more than 30 years of insurance, who were also one of the categories of the great losers of the Katrougalos province. With the corrective Law Vroutsis in November 2023, their pensions were recalculated and since then they receive their increased pensions normally. But they have not received a single €1 of retrospectives for a period of 4 years from October 2019 to October 2023. On average a pensioners that falls into this category has received around €5,500 on average.

Examples

For example, a pensioner who retired in 2019 with 38 years of insurance and a pensionable salary of €1,840 saw his pension increase by €117 after the recalculation of V. Vroutsis, namely from €1,187 to €1,304. This person will retroactively receive €117 x 48 months = €5,616

In another example, a pensioner with 40 years of service with 40 years of insurance and a pensionable salary of €1,600 saw his pension increase by €125 after the recalculation of Vroutsis, namely from €1,154 to €1,279. This person will retroactively receive €125 x 48 months = €6,000

For this money, of course, pensioners must submit additional tax returns in the financial year to which they refer, in which case they will be taxed based on the tax scale that was in force at the time. In addition, a solidarity levy is imposed, as a result significantly less money will end up in the pockets of pensioners.

November will be as everything shows and the month that will end the suffering of the approximately 370,000 pensioners who did NOT listen to the assurances of the government officials and went to court until 31/7/2020 claiming the retroactively cut gifts and the cut auxiliary pensions of the period from June 2015 to May 2026. The Supreme Special Court is expected to issue its decision in November and resolve the dilemma that has arisen from the conflicting decisions of the SC and the Supreme Court.

The amounts that pensioners have received depending on their fund are:

€410 – €2,372 for IKA insured persons
€503-€1985 for NAT
€668 – €2,399 for the ETAA
€727 – €2,820 for the State
€1,110-€4,004 for DEKO and banks

Also here the amounts are mixed.

Those pensioners who have not appealed to the Court, will not receive anything. Unless there is a political decision.
