Total public expenditure 1,626,057 euros, of which 1,311,337 euros are a contribution from the Recovery and Resilience Fund
By decision of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, it is part of the Recovery and Resilience Fund, a project for the renovation of the entrance to the building of the Museum of Cycladic Art, with the aim of facilitating the autonomous movement of Persons with Disabilities and in general of our hindered fellow citizens , but also the strengthening of the wider image of this emblematic space.
In particular, with this specific action, with a total public expenditure of 1,626,057 euros, of which 1,311,337 euros are a contribution from the Recovery and Resilience Fund, demolition and removal of existing structural elements, static reinforcement works, minimization of barriers, construction of ramps will be carried out , modification of elevators, configuration of special escape exits, etc., solving the current problem of lack of space at the entrance of the Museum and at the same time improving accessibility for all groups of visitors.
At the same time, new energy-reflective glass panels are planned, in order to improve the energy efficiency of the new facade, while elevators are being designed for the safe transport of antiquities to the storage areas of the basement, new visitor elevators to the upper collection floors and a new folding elevator for the disabled. Finally, the existing entrance and foyer floor, which currently consists of different materials, is replaced with a new continuous mosaic floor that connects the exterior spaces with the foyer and the interior public transit areas.
The responsible and financing body is the Ministry of Culture and the implementing body is the Redevelopment of Public Spaces SA.
