The Secretary of Justice and Citizenship of the state of São Paulo, Fernando José Da Costa, will participate in the blitz at gas stations in the capital of São Paulo this Saturday (12).
He says that the inspection aims to prevent some establishments from taking advantage of the moment to apply even higher readjustments than the mega-increase announced by Petrobras this Thursday (10th).
“Fuel prices are already very high, reflecting on transport costs and with the risk of an even greater increase in inflation. Therefore, we have an obligation to inspect the stations to avoid abuse by some entrepreneurs who can raise prices even more at the pump” , says the secretary.
The authorized adjustment for distributors is 18.8% for the liter of gasoline and 24.9% for diesel sold to distributors. For cooking gas, the increase is 16.1%.
Other bodies such as Ipem, Procon and the Civil Police will also participate in the so-called Clean Fuel Operation. Procon-SP started the inspection this Friday (11).
The mega-increase announced by Petrobras took effect on Friday, but some stations had already started to readjust prices the day before.
