Investment totaling 45 million euro launched by Intracom Telecoman international manufacturer of technological systems and solutions, related to the creation of high-tech production facilities in Kozani. Construction of the plant will begin in 2025 and is expected to be completed within two years.
According to a related announcement, this project is part of the Greek government’s Just Transition Program, which aims to strengthen entrepreneurship and economic development in the country’s peripheral regions and is yet another strategic milestone for the Greek technological force in its ongoing efforts to strengthen its position in the world market.
The new unit will be erected in privately owned area of ​​71,457 sq.m. with building facilities that will cover 18,637 sq.m. and will be equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, being yet another production unit of the Group to be added to those in Romania and Italy.
With the aim of reducing the environmental footprint, 20% of the facilities’ energy needs will be covered through solar systems.
The unit will focus on the production of high-tech products for the implementation of wireless networks. These advanced radio systems are developed in the company’s Research and Development centers in Greece and support the creation of modern 5G/6G networks, contributing significantly to the digital economy of Greece and Europe.
“The investment in Kozani is a strategic milestone for strengthening our leadership position in the technology sector,” said the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Intracom Telecom Isak Alon. “The strategic geographical location of the region, which provides direct access to European markets, makes it an ideal choice for expanding our production capacity in order to meet the growing demand worldwide. At the same time, the project reflects our commitment to strengthening the technological autonomy of the European Union”, he added.
According to the same announcement, Intracom Telecom’s investment is expected to bring significant socio-economic benefits to the region, as it will create over 150 specialized jobs.
