Almost a month before the end of the deadline for the payment of the traffic fees and while the GIS “runs” the first major intersection for the vehicles that circulate without having passed the KTEO or are uninsured or have been declared immobile, the AADE issued a very useful question-and-answer guide concerning the I.X. immovable property declaration. and road tax.

If someone wishes to immobilize their vehicle digitally, they must do so through the platform myCARin which it is linked to the taxis codes.

There he registers the registration number, the parking address of the vehicle and whether the parking space is privately owned, rented or granted.

However, there are some cases in which the immobility of the vehicle must be declared to the competent DOU/KEFODE, digitally of course again through the AADE digital portal and the “My Requests” application. Such cases are:

– Theft or misappropriation of the vehicle
-Circulation of the vehicle abroad
-Incomplete transfer of the vehicle
– Seizure of the vehicle
– Removal of the vehicle’s traffic data
-Deliver it for final deletion and recycling
-Complete destruction of the vehicle
-Auction of the vehicle
-Death of the owner of the vehicle, where the immobility is declared by his heirs (as long as a license has not yet been issued in their name)

The possibility of digital immobility concerns only I.X. passenger cars and two-wheelers.
To remove the digital immobility, again through myCAR and the conditions are:
The payment of the current year’s traffic fees
The insurance of the I.X.

In the event that someone wishes to remove immobility for certain months within the year, he must choose the payment of traffic fees by the month according to the months he wishes to move his vehicle.
The removal of immobility for a certain period of time by paying fees by the month is done only ONCE every year.
On the second removal of immobility in the same year it is required to pay the total outstanding traffic fees.

The removal of immobility can be for as long as one wishes. But he should know that even one day counts as one month and therefore 1/12 of the fees must be paid.
The time of temporary movement of the vehicle is calculated from the date of submission of the request and not from the date of payment of the traffic fees.

Heirs of an immovable property owner who has passed away cannot do a digital withdrawal. They should, just as in the stationary position, do it through the digital application “My Requests”.

In cases of co-ownership, all co-owners must agree to both the placement and removal of immobility. The co-owners are informed through the personalized information or by e-mail if it has been declared, and if they agree they must approve the request.

If a vehicle has been digitally immobilized and is found to be circulating, then the payment of Traffic Fees, a late payment fine and an administrative fine of €10,000 are imposed. In case of recurrence, an administrative fine of €30,000 is imposed and the driver’s license of the owner/holder is withdrawn.

The fines for the late – after 31/12 – payment of traffic fees are scaled as follows:
Penalty 25% of fees if payment is made in January
50% penalty if done in February
Doubling of fees if payment is made from March onwards
