In detail, the pensioners who are entitled to the retroactive 6.5 million euros
On Wednesday 27 November 2024, retrospective payments will be made to approximately 23,000 private and public sector pensioners who receive more than one main pension.
Beneficiaries include retirees who receive:
Old age and death pensions
Two old-age pensions
The payment concerns pensions issued before the implementation of Law 4387/2016, while retroactive increases are calculated based on the increased replacement rates introduced by Law 4670/2020, for insured persons with more than 30 years of insurance.
Basic payment details:
Retrospective period: October 2019 – October 2023.
Total payment amount: Approximately 6,500,000 euros.
Average amount per beneficiary: 280.73 euros.
Maximum amount: 11,902 euros.
For 5,838 pensioners who have passed away, the amounts will be given to their legal heirs, according to the prescribed procedures.
