Thessaly is at the center of our strategy for a new productive model in the Greek economy, and even more so as it has received the blows of Daniel and other climate change phenomena in the recent past“, said the Minister of Development, Takis Theodorikakos, during his presence at a conference on the topic of “Business Leadership Summit | Innovation, Investments, Development: Driving the Future of Business, organized by Grant Thornton in Larissa and held under the auspices of SVTHSE (Association of Industries of Thessaly and Central Greece) and STHEB (Association of Thessalian Enterprises and Industries).

The minister pointed out that the aim of the government and the ministry is to speed up the 60 investment projects for Thessaly, noting that their budget is 162 million euros, of which 90 millionare expected to be given as financial support by the Ministry of Development, either in the form of direct money or tax exemptions. “These are deeds, these are works. We are next to the citizens of Thessaly, the region of Thessaly and the University of Thessaly” emphasized the minister.

At the same time, the minister also referred to the collaboration that exists with the University of Thessaly, saying that “we are working on a new program with innovative actions to upgrade the primary sector and industry”.

THE chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Industries of Thessaly and Central Greece (SVTHSE), Athanasios Syrianos, referred, among other things, to the importance of integrating more women into the labor market, especially in an era of significant challenges, underlining the need for businesses, and especially small and medium-sized ones, to be supported in this direction. Also, the president of the Association of Thessalian Businesses and Industries (STHEB), Giorgos Roupakias, pointed out the importance of technological development and innovation for the development of Thessaly, especially after the recent disasters suffered by the region.
