32.6% increase occurred in the third quarter of this year in the number of job vacancies in the whole economy, excluding the primary sector and household activities, compared to the third quarter of 2023 (48,813 and 36,801 positions, respectively); against a 51.3% increase in the corresponding comparison in 2023 to 2022.

According to her ELSTATa job vacancy is considered a newly created position, an already vacant position or a position that is soon to be vacated, for which the employer has recently taken active steps to find a suitable candidate, outside the company, and which is available either immediately either in the immediate / near future. It is noted that the vacant jobs only concern employees.

Vacancies are not considered to be filled by:

  • Apprenticeships without pay, either from employers or from any social security body.
  • Contractors, who are not on the payroll.
  • Personnel rehired or returning from paid or unpaid leave.
  • Internal transfers within the company of existing staff.

Vacancies in the immediate future are full-time or part-time jobs that will need to be filled in no longer than three months.
