Fourlis Group has published for the 15th consecutive year its Sustainability and Social Responsibility Report for the financial year 2023. As highlighted in the report, 2023 was a year of significant initiatives and achievements for the group, reflecting its dedication and commitment to a strategy development that incorporates the principles of sustainable development.
The group remains committed to supporting the communities in which it operates. In 2023, it allocated more than Euro 550,000 to social actions, most of which concerned the support of vulnerable social groups and especially children, but also those affected by natural disasters. With the active participation of more than 100 employees, 11 corporate volunteering actions were also implemented to support society and protect the environment.
In the field of environmental protection, initiatives were adopted to reduce the environmental footprint, achieving a reduction of direct greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1) t CO2e by 25.72% and by 0.59% of indirect greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 2) t CO2e, compared to 2022. In addition, electricity production from photovoltaic systems amounted to 1,855.8 MWh.
The people of the Fourlis group are at the core of its success. In 2023, the group focused on the education and development of employees, with the average lifetime education of women increasing by 26.58%, while that of men by 4.59%, but also on their health and well-being, through “EF ZIN” program with actions spanning the fields of health and prevention, mental health, sports and nutrition. Particular importance continued to be given to Diversity and Inclusion with relevant educational programs, as well as women’s empowerment actions.
