Pre-filled IR statement avoids fine mesh; know what to do

by

The taxpayer who wants to escape the fine mesh and receive the refund in the first batches can take advantage of the pre-filled Income Tax declaration 2022, released this Monday (14).

The new functionality is available to those who have a silver or gold account on the Gov.br portal. In all, 10 million citizens should benefit. It is possible to have access to the pre-filled document online, in the e-CAC (Virtual Service Center of the Federal Revenue); by the program installed on the computer; and by cell phone or tablet, with the Meu Imposto de Renda app.

See the step by step on the computer:

  8. If this is the first time you are making the declaration, go to “New”; otherwise, click “On Fill”
  9. Inform that it is an “Annual Adjustment Declaration” and choose the option “Start Declaration from ‘Pre-completed'”
  10. Choose “Pre-filled Declaration” and click “OK”
  11. The information that the pre-filled declaration was successfully loaded will appear. Click “OK”
  12. Start checking if the data is correct; the information to be sent to the tax authorities is the taxpayer’s responsibility

What should appear

The main forms must be completed. The first one is the information on the taxpayer, which will come according to the data declared to the Federal Revenue Service in the previous year. If there are dependents, their names and document data will also appear on the “Dependents” tab.

To delete, click on the name and click on “Delete”. To add, click on “New”, just below, on the right side of the screen. The feeders will appear on the “Feeded” tab. Don’t be alarmed if there is tax to pay or low refund amount. There is data that must still be included or excluded.

Those who receive company income will have the data such as name, CNPJ and total amount received in the year in the “Taxable Income Received from PJ” form. Insureds who are INSS retirees must have their payment details recorded in this form. Check and everything is correct. Otherwise, click on the name of the paying source and then click on “Edit” below.

Anyone who has received a non-taxable premium or allowance, has withdrawn FGTS (Fundo de Garantia do Tempo de Serviço) due to dismissal or for the purchase of their own home or has won unemployment insurance must have the data recorded in the “Exempt and Non-Taxable Income” form. If necessary, you can insert or delete data.

For workers who received PLR (Profit Sharing) this amount will be informed in the form “Income Subject to Exclusive/Definitive Taxation”. Arrears from the INSS or any precatory of action in Justice must be in “Accumulated Income Received”.

Form payments made includes all expenses

Expenses with the schooling of the children or the holder himself, in addition to health expenses, such as average insurance, dentists, psychologists and doctors in general are in the “Payments Made” form. Perhaps it is this form that the taxpayer should pay more attention to.

It is necessary to discard, by clicking on the “Delete” button, what was not part of the 2021 deductible payments. The total paid at the school, for example, is not reported in the program. This is because educational units are not required to provide this type of data to the tax authorities. The taxpayer himself must complete.

Expenses with health plans and with duly registered doctors will be automatically reported, as these companies and professionals are required to render accounts, sending their declarations of legal entities to the IRS.

Those who make contributions to PGBL (Free Benefit Generating Plan) will have informed, in the pre-filled declaration, the company’s data, but the amounts paid in the year will not be recorded. It is necessary for the taxpayer to write them down in the IR document.

How to declare goods on income tax

The “Assets and Rights” sheet provides information about real estate and automobiles, in addition to the amount in current or savings accounts. As the Revenue modified this form in 2022, dividing it by groups, it may be that not all data are filled in automatically. In the test carried out by Folha, the bank information was not included.

In the case of goods, inform how much they were worth on 12/31/2021. If sold, leave this field blank. If you purchased in 2021, you will need to add the item by clicking “New” below. Inform, on 12/31/2021, the purchase value of the property, car, land or any other asset that must be in the declaration. Leave the 2020 field blank.

Those who have a car, house or apartment financed must add the installments to the amount previously declared and inform the total in “Situation on 12/31/2021”.

The retiree who has consigned credit must have this information automatically filled in the “Real Debts and Encumbrances” form. Enter only the values for 2021 (learn about the INSS retiree’s Income Tax declaration).

Valdir Amorim, IOB’s tax coordinator, says that the pre-filled declaration is the future of accountability to the IRS. In addition, he sees it as one of the most efficient ways to escape the fine mesh. “The advantage of the pre-filled declaration in relation to the others is that you will be able to access and the data will already be there. With this, it will be possible to check and validate what is registered, avoiding errors”, he says.

Refund starts to be paid in May

The first batch of refunds for 2022 starts to be paid in May. It includes the elderly over 80 years old, in addition to the elderly aged between 60 and 79 years. Priority in payment is also given to taxpayers or dependents with physical or mental disabilities or serious illness, as well as to those who have teaching as a major source of income.

Then, the payment begins to be made for the other citizens who declared the IR, according to the order of delivery of the declaration. 34.1 million accountability documents are expected.

This year, there is something new for those who will receive the refund: it can be paid through Pix, if the key is the CPF of the holder of the declaration. If it is not possible to receive by Pix, the taxpayer must provide a valid bank account.
