Starbucks and Volvo have teamed up on a pilot program to research the use and capacity of electric vehicle chargers in cafeteria stores across the United States.
By the end of this year, Volvo electric vehicle chargers will be installed at 15 Starbucks stores on the route from Denver to the coffee chain’s Seattle headquarters.
There will be a charging point every 100 miles, within battery range of most electric vehicles today.
Earlier this month, Sony and Honda announced a partnership to develop and sell battery-powered vehicles. Volkswagen’s board has already approved an investment of 2 billion euros in the new electric car factory.
